Expat collaborators Isobel & Benjamin bring their respective skills and influences together in the American tradition of quilt-making, and in the graphic aesthetic of British nautical flags. The work explores the possibility of being both lost or adrift but simultaneously 'at home' by piecing together old comforts and memories with a new language, people, and surroundings.

Driftwood inherently holds the story of a seemingly random voyage, whilst industrial canvas is reminiscent of sails and the landscape of Reykjavik Harbour. Colours and graphics are inspired by nautical flags, which historically communicate messages across oceans. The piece is intended to serve as a reminder to embrace unknown journeys and the paths we may find ourselves on, having faith that the current will lead us to our destination.
