"BLÆTI – A NEW HARDCOVER ART/MUSIC/FASHION MAGAZINE FROM ICELAND Blæti is a stunning new hardcover magazine featuring over 400 pages of interviews, photography, art and fashion. The magazine was founded by renowned Icelandic fashion photographer Saga Sigurðardóttir and Reykjavik stylist Erna Bergmann. They are joined by journalist Sigrún Edda Eðvarsdóttir, who has a degree in history of art and a long experience within the fashion industry, and a talented graphic designer Helga Dögg Ólafsdóttir. „Saga and I founded Blæti because we found that a platform was needed for photographers and stylists to be able to create and work with their hearts. Blæti is a poetic fashion magazine that breaks stereotypes and brings a real and beautiful message, by using non-conformist models on fashion shoots and in ads,“ says  Bergmann. „We‘ve been able to tend to every detail and do things exactly how we wanted to, which is a very liberating and wonderful feeling.“ In Icelandic, the word Blæti means „fetish“ and in the magazine embodies a fetish for beauty, fashion, women, men, fashion, the imperfect, our bodies, hopes, expectations, aesthetics, sorrow, love, loss, memories, desire and so much more. The magazine features articles, poetry and prose by numerous Icelandic writers and artists, in Icelandic, where the visual aspect becomes interlaced with the written word. Blæti is almost like a work of art in itself and is a beautiful impression of Iceland to take back home. The first issue of BLÆTI in Icelandic was published in December 2016. Each issue of the magazine is intended as a piece in itself and it comes out once per year. It‘s a hardcover magazine, in the format of a book, using the finest possible printing techniques and various kinds of high quality paper.
Blæti is available at selected bookstores and shops in Reykjavik and captures the atmosphere of what's happening in Reykjavik right now."
